Criminal Division
The Honourable Carl Thibault is responsible for the Criminal Division in the Quebec Division and coordinates the activities of the Division.
In the District of Quebec, the Criminal Practice Division sits during practice and criminal appeals sessions on Wednesday and Friday of each week.
In other districts, the Criminal Practice Division does not sit on a fixed date. Practice and criminal appeals cases shall be scheduled on dates and at times determined by the judge in charge of the Criminal Division.
Statutory and criminal appeals
Prosecutors shall file their notice of appeal with the court office of the appropriate courthouse in accordance with the Rules of the Superior Court of Quebec in Criminal Matters or the Rules of practice of the Québec Superior Court in Penal Matters and the Directive concerning the operation of the Criminal Division of the Quebec Division (French only).
